HOW TO COOK RICE

Just Rice Cooking Methods

The degree of rice tenderness is an individual choice. All times suggested in these cooking methods are guidelines only.
Check and cook as you desire. All rice should be washed thoroughly before use.

Absorption Method
  1. Bring 2 cups of water to the boil.
  2. Wash 1 cup of Just Rice and slowly stir in the boiling water. Add salt, oil or butter if desired.
  3. Cover the saucepan, lower the heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
Rapid Boil
  1. Bring 6 cups of water to the boil.
  2. Wash 1 cup of Just Rice and slowly stir in the boiling water. Add salt, oil or butter if desired.
  3. Boil rapidly and uncovered for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Drain in a strainer and serve.
Microwave
  1. Wash 1 cup of Just Rice and place it in a deep casserole dish or bowl.
  2. Add 2 cups of boiling water. Add salt, oil or butter if desired.
  3. Cover dish and cook on high for 11-13 minutes.
  4. Remove from microwave and let stand for 5 minutes
  5. Fluff rice with a fork and serve.
